I have a problem with people who say things like, “I wish I was more self-aware.” This is a really common statement. We often feel as though we are more self-aware than we actually are and I don’t even know the definition of self-awareness. It’s just a very vague and subjective thing. It is usually defined as the ability to recognize, analyze, and act appropriately in situations that call for self-awareness.
We all feel as though we are more self-aware than we actually are, but the question of what we actually are and how we feel about ourselves is extremely subjective. We all have different perspectives on things and, as we can see from the comments on this blog, opinions vary.
It’s true that opinions/feelings don’t really change, but you can definitely recognize yourself and what you believe is true by how you react to things in certain situations.
